Welcome our son, Jonah

Jeannie and I have been trying to document the progress of her pregnancy from the beginning.  It all culminated with the birth of our son, Jonah.  He was born on Friday, December 5, 2009 at 9.13 AM.  Jeannie’s water had broken on Thursday morning and we went directly to the doctor’s office.  After seeing her doc, he instructed us to head to the hospital since she had already started to have contractions.

Originally, we had chosen a practice that was affiliated with Englewood Hospital, but we didn’t like the fact that Englewood had shared postpartum recovery rooms.  Jeannie found another practice that was affiliated with Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.  They only have single postpartum rooms.

Jeannie’s labor lasted 24 hours.  The last 3 hours were spent trying to push Jonah out.  Finally, the doctors made the decision that a Cesarean section was necessary.

Annie - Oh geez… 24 hours in labor and 3 of them spent trying to push him out?!?! I am so not looking forward to having a baby. However, he is beautiful and a wonderful blessing. Congratulations you two!!
